Even though the morning began with a strong nip in the air, most of the 53 contestants competing at the 2013 Bassmaster Classic found Grand Lake O’ the Cherokee’s hidden bass treasure. Some in a very big way!
As a matter of fact, 37 of the anglers managed to catch their five-fish limit and everyone in the top ten posted weights of more than 16.75 pounds!
Leading the 2013 Classic pack at the end of Day One are both Mike Iaconelli (IKE) and Cliff Pace both with 21.5 lbs, followed by Hank Cherry with nearly 22 pounds and Kevin VanDam (KVD) ar 19.75 pounds.
Current Big Bass leader is Mark Pierce with a 7.25 lb. bucket-mouth!

Not So Honorable Mention…
There was only one angler skunked during Day One… last year’s Classic Champ, Chris Lane… Perhaps he’ll have better luck on Day Two!
